The Lake Constance Climb to Nowhere

The Lake Constance Trail
First, the long walk up the Doeswallips Road
Evidence of damage from the 2009 burn

After four miles of walking the road, the Lake Constance "trail head"
After much scrambling, we finally get above the burned area into deep, steep forest.
Some trees were marked, as there was no real trail most of the time.
A view looking back as the "trail" finally opens up
Looking upstream from Constance Creek
The last doable part of the "trail"  Afterwards, there was nothing but a sheer wall to climb with a dropoff that looked like certain death.  Therefore, we opted to turn around and go back.

Just discovered your trip reports and other sites via the WTA...nice to see the expanded info and photos and
you actually hike in the Olympics as well..seems most are in the Cascades. Look forward to looking further
into your trip reports. Thanks..
