Silver Creek Trail

We began this hike by driving to the deserted Crystal Mountain resort, parking by the chapel, and then walking up the hill to a nasty dirt road, and then turning left onto the Silver Creek trail.  Good thing we had been there before because the sign was missing until we walked a few hundred feet to the nearest ski lift.
Now there is a sign confirming we are in the right place

Continuing up the trail and looking back on the ski slopes

It didn't take long to get to the PCT.

PCT looking north

PCT looking south

High walk heading south

Only a tiny hint of fall color at first

Then a little more color

Looking down on Placer Lake
Approaching Sourdough Gap, along with the clouds

An ancient marker on the PCT north, at Pickhandle Point

Looking down on the basin that might be the location of Hen Skin Lake

Another view of Crystal Mountain ski slopes

Coming back down the very steep ski slope instead of the trail.  Silly, but interesting.
