Gallagher Head Lake

Time to do something new in Teanaway
Gallagher Head Lake

Wild turkeys seen on the morning drive up the Teanaway Road

We began hiking up through the forest

After about a mile, we crossed this bridge over De Roux Creek

Fall color on the trail

The trail follows De Roux Creek and its many waterfalls

The trail eventually emerges from the forest

More color along the trail as it continues up

Finally reaching pretty Gallagher Head Lake

The blueberry bushes were a brilliant bright red, but the berries were gone

Another view of the lake

And another

Then, back down the trail

Enjoying some more fall color

And more trail side red to keep us entertained

We completed this lovely little hike in complete solitude.

Stats:
Round trip=9 miles
Elevation gain=1900 feet
Hike/Drive ratio (from Cle Elum) =5.5/2= 2.75
Date Hiked=September 26, 2016
