Finally got the bike fixed, now it's time to resume our riding of the Willapa Hills Trail. We went to the Rainbow Falls State Park to pick it up approximately where we left off.
| Crossing the first bridge over the Chehalis River |
| Another splendid view of the river |
| Stopping to check our mileage |
| The gravel trail clearly leading through the Willapa Hills |
| Quiet countryside |
| Plenty of pastoral scenes |
| Arriving at the town of Pe Ell and the site of an old railroad depot |
| Complete with picnic tables |
| And a very informative trail sign |
| We kept going past Pe Ell, but encountered this. The bridge is intact, but... |
| There are holes in the decking. |
| So this was our turnaround point |
| So we came back to Pe Ell for lunch |
| And then returned the way we came. | |
Stats:
Round trip= 16.5 miles
Elevation gain=150 feet
Bike/drive ratio=3/5/3.5=1

Looks like a serene ride. Maybe Jen and I will try it on the way to/from Vancouver. Glad you got the bike sorted.
