Found another new location to walk the beach and look at the birds. Who knew?
| Our first visit to Indian Island County Park, dark clouds over the water |
| Walking the beach |
| Watching a Glaucous Sea Gull |
| Second trip to the same park, but different trail down to the beach |
| Walking on the spit of land between Puget Sound to the left and the lagoon full of birds on the right |
| Mt. Baker in the distance |
| A closer look at the lagoon |
| A typical Washington beach decked with eroding cliffs |
Between the two trips, we identified the following birds: Black Oyster Catcher, Barrow's Golden Eyes, Red Breasted Mergansers, Hooded Mergansers, Buffleheads, Ruddy Ducks, American Wigeons, Eurasian Wigeons, Northern Pintails, a Juvenile Eagle, and of course, American Robins.
Very cold both trips, but also very fun.
