First, thanks to Helen and Gordon, for telling us about the Quileute Oceanside Resort in La Push
| Here is the first view from our cabin, looking right out to First Beach |
| Walking out to First Beach |
| Investigating the marine life near the south side of the beach |
| Anemones, stars, and mussels, oh my. |
| Next day, we took the nearby trail to Second Beach |
| Through the forest |
| Almost there |
| Walking across this pile of driftwood to get to the beach was a little challenging |
| Arriving at beautiful Second Beach was well worth the effort |
| More haystacks than some other, more famous beaches |
| We quickly got solitude, walking down the beach |
| Who says there are no sandy beaches in Washington? |
| Keith took this great shot. |
| Resting, back at our cabin |
| Back on First Beach in the late afternoon |
| The breakwater, at the north end of First Beach, with James Island in the background |
| On the breakwater |
| Watching the sun set after a wonderful day at the beaches |
More than ten miles of beach walking, spread over two days, in a very special place. We were happy to talk to, and support, many Quileute tribe members while we were there.
