Naches Peak Loop in November

Pleasant weather and gorgeous sunsets (from our deck) inspired us to take a hike in the high country.

So, while the roads are still open, we headed to Chinook pass to do 6+ miles around  Naches Peak.

It's 27 degrees and windy, but we have solitude.

Looking Northwest

Looking Northeast

Icy trail...we were glad we had our microspikes

Starting to get some blue sky

Frozen falls

Mmmm, sunshine - the hat and gloves come off

Climbing up to the eastern side of the loop, looking south....

...and heading west

...with views of the Goat rock wilderness...

and, of course, Mt Rainier.

The frozen tarn

View from near our lunch spot in the snow

Coming back down to complete the loop. A very nice November hike.

Just for fun, a picture from the same hike in August 2014
