Long Beach

 A new adventure

Our cottage near the beach. We take a lovely 5 mile walk in the afternoon.

Next morning, a 16 mile bike along the coast and into the forest

Entering our 4th habitat zone - sitka spruce and cedar

Climbing about 500' up to the North Head lighthouse

At the top...

looking toward the mouth of the Colombia.

The North Head lighthouse, built in 1898

Back down to the dunes...

...finding a lunch spot.

Heading back.

In the afternoon, we head to Leadbetter State Park in the northern peninsula.

We take a short hike in forest and along Willipa Bay.

Huge flocks of birds but too far away

Not a great birding day but still fun.

All in all, a sweet little trip.  Hopefully, we can return someday soon.

Excellent, I didn't realize there was so much to explore out there.

Neither did we. We were especially thrilled with the Discover Trail
