Mount Peak

A little hike, but very interesting and also brand new for us.  This trail has three names:  Mount Peak, Mount Pete, and Pinnacle Peak.

Starting up the Pinnacle Peak Trail

Beautiful trail shot

We were pleasantly surprised to see old growth cedar, fir and hemlock

Getting higher

looking down over Enumclaw

Chowing down on maple seeds

Columnar basalt along the trail. This little mountain is what remains of a cinder cone.

Looking happy on the top

Less than 3 miles RT with 1,000' elev. gain, but fun. On the way down two huge 10 point bull elk charged down just in front of us, quite thrilling.
