Lake Angeles

The rain was coming down, but we headed to Port Angeles, hoping for sunshine.   We were surprised to find the Hurricane Ridge Road closed, so it looked like a perfect time to check out Lake Angeles.

Always nice to have a good sign at the trailhead

It was drippy wet at the beginning of the hike

This pretty bridge could be anywhere in the Olympics National Park

Ditto for this bridge, which was slippery with slush

The precipitation got whiter as we gained elevation

First peek at the lake

Walking in the snow around the lake

Nice view of  Lake Angeles

Going around the lake, looking for a lunch spot

Walking back down to the shore

A view from our lunch spot.

Yes, it was just as cold as it looks.
We were happy to hurry back down the trail, generating some body heat.
Stats:
Round trip=7.4 miles
Elevation gain=2400'
Date hiked=November 9, 2015
