Duckabush River Trail

After seemingly endless days of rain, out comes the sun, it is a fine day for a hike.
We knew there was snow in the mountains, so we chose this low elevation trail, along the Duckabush River

It didn't take long to get into the beautiful Brothers Wilderness

The forest was so pretty in the morning light

The river was equally stunning
After climbing several switchbacks, a view of the Olympics starts to open up

The first lower viewpoint of the Big Hump

A shot from the highest viewpoint of the Big Hump

So many fallen trees, presumably from the previous forest fire

Lovely salmonberry blossoms

One last shot of the river on our way out
Stats:
Roundtrip=9.8miles
Trail head elevation=500 ft
High point=1700ft

I just started exploring the carbon river area with my 8 yr old son. Melmont and such. Thanks for posting all these great hikes. We're sure to follow in your footsteps.

Thanks so much. We always enjoyed hiking with our sons and now with our granddaughters.
