It was such a beautiful day, we wanted to get out even if there is still too much snow in the mountains for a real high altitude hike. We decided to revisit Fort Flagler
| We started on a muddy trail in the middle of the park |
| The trail took us to historical spots like this old bankhead |
| From there we walked down to this beach on the western side of the park |
| Mt. Baker came into view as we walked the beach |
| Mt. Baker in front of us |
| The Olympics behind us |
| Lots of serious landsliding from the cliffs |
| Coming around the point to the other side of the park |
| The view from our lunch spot |
| Then we came back up from the beach to the parade grounds of the old fort, then looped back to the car |
Statistics= approximately 6 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain
Isn't Washington pretty when the sun comes out?
