Fort Flagler, a walk in the park

It was such a beautiful day, we wanted to get out even if there is still too much snow in the mountains for a real high altitude hike.  We decided to revisit Fort Flagler

We started on a muddy trail in the middle of the park

The trail took us to historical spots like this old bankhead

From there we walked down to this beach on the western side of the park

Mt. Baker came into view as we walked the beach

Mt. Baker in front of us

The Olympics behind us
Lots of serious landsliding from the cliffs

Coming around the point to the other side of the park

The view from our lunch spot

Then we came back up from the beach to the parade grounds of the old fort, then looped back to the car
Statistics= approximately 6 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain

Isn't Washington pretty when the sun comes out?
