I saw this wonderful trail online and thought it would be great to start in Chehalis and bike as far as we could toward the ocean. The trail was described on Trail Link as being 56 miles long.
| So, off to Chehalis we went, and unloaded our bikes |
| It was a beautiful day and a beautiful trail |
| The trail crosses and recrosses the Chehalis River |
| The trail goes through lush wetlands full of birds |
| Herd of trailside sheep |
| We saw a beaver here but it was camera shy |
After biking a mere 5.5 miles, we encountered construction workers repairing a bridge. The bad news was that we couldn't get across and had to turn around. So much for biking to the ocean.
| So, we turned around and went back the way we came |
| Very pretty farmland in this river bottom |
This was a great outing, except for the trail being 90% shorter than we expected.
Stats=11 miles round trip, all flat
