Chehalis Western Trail

In spite of the gloomy weather, we decided to check out the Chehalis Western Trail.  We threw the bikes on the rack and headed to Lacey, a much shorter drive than going to the mountains.

The trailhead is in a little park, called Chambers Lake Trailhead park

Looking at the map to decide which way to go

We headed south first, and the trail was actually quite pretty

The trail goes through numerous wetlands

We took a little side trip to Smith Lake

Smith Lake

This map shows the Chehalis Western Trail intersecting with the Woodland trail, more biking options

After biking south and back and north and back, we stopped back at the Chambers Lake Trailhead Park for lunch
A most interesting trail, we'll definitely come back when the weather is nicer and go further.
Stats:
Round trip=17 miles
Elevation gain=300 feet
Bike/drive ratio=150minutes/90minutes=1.67
