In spite of the gloomy weather, we decided to check out the Chehalis Western Trail. We threw the bikes on the rack and headed to Lacey, a much shorter drive than going to the mountains.
| The trailhead is in a little park, called Chambers Lake Trailhead park |
| Looking at the map to decide which way to go |
| We headed south first, and the trail was actually quite pretty |
| The trail goes through numerous wetlands |
| We took a little side trip to Smith Lake |

| This map shows the Chehalis Western Trail intersecting with the Woodland trail, more biking options |
| After biking south and back and north and back, we stopped back at the Chambers Lake Trailhead Park for lunch |
A most interesting trail, we'll definitely come back when the weather is nicer and go further.
Stats:
Round trip=17 miles
Elevation gain=300 feet
Bike/drive ratio=150minutes/90minutes=1.67
