We had tried this hike before, fourteen years ago. I think we might have vowed never to do that again. However, today seemed like a good day to make it to Wagonwheel Lake.

| Wagonwheel Lake |
| The sign just seems to be a dare |
| The trail is gentle only at the very beginning |
| Then it starts ascending steeply through the forest |
| After twenty five switchbacks, some blooming rhododendrons appeared to break the monotony |
| The trail then just goes straight up a long ridge |
| Up and up |
| Hmm. Avalanche lilies, must be snow ahead |
| Not only was there snow to cross, but the fog and mist were really rolling in |
| Plenty of pretty trillium in bloom |
| It was cold, but we made it. Wagonwheel Lake |
Since we were so cold, we hurried back down as fast as we could, proud that we completed this hike
Stats:
Elevation gain=3200feet
Round trip=6miles
Hike/drive ration=5/4=1.25
Date hiked=5/24/2016

Very nice. I really like the way you tell a story with your pictures in this and all your posts.
