Maple Pass Loop

We traveled all the way to Mazama so that we could do some high hikes in the North Cascades.
The Maple Pass Loop has been on our bucket list for a long time, so we did it first.

We started getting views right from the start

Lake Ann from the shoreline

Looking down on Lake Ann as we climb above it

Penstemon and Indian Paintbrush along the trail

Pretty Heather Pass, 6200'

Now, looking WAY down on Lake Ann

Plenty of snow fields to cross

Rainy Falls Roaring

Rainy Lake

After getting views of  Rainy Lake, we walked another mile or so back to where we started.  Every single minute of this hike was spectacular.

Stats:
Round trip= 9.5 miles, including side trips to Lake Ann and Heather Pass
Elevation gain=2100'
Hike/Drive Ratio=6/1=6 (from Mazama)
Date Hiked=July 26, 2016

 Thank you, Keith, for everything.
