We traveled all the way to Mazama so that we could do some high hikes in the North Cascades.
The Maple Pass Loop has been on our bucket list for a long time, so we did it first.
| We started getting views right from the start |
| Lake Ann from the shoreline |
| Looking down on Lake Ann as we climb above it |
| Penstemon and Indian Paintbrush along the trail |
| Pretty Heather Pass, 6200' |
| Happy Hiker on Heather Pass with Wing Lake in the background |
| Hiking higher |
| And higher |
| Now, looking WAY down on Lake Ann |
| Plenty of snow fields to cross |
| Glacier Peak on the horizon |
| Ascending the ridge |
| Cute little marmot |
| Maple Pass, 6600' with its broken sign |
| Looking south from Maple Pass |
| Gorgeous Pink Mountain Heather |
| Lake Ann from the south side of the loop |
| Coming down the mountains |
| The flower show just kept going |
| Rainy Falls Roaring |
| Rainy Lake |
After getting views of Rainy Lake, we walked another mile or so back to where we started. Every single minute of this hike was spectacular.
