Remembering this spot from backpacking the Wonderland Trail many years ago, we decided to check it out, taking a day hike in from the Box Canyon of the Cowlitz Divide
| Our starting point |
| The ancient trees never fail to impress us |
| We had plenty of solitude. |
| At one mile, we crossed the bridge over Nickel Creek |
| Hmm, love that bear grass perfume |
| Striking bear grass steals the show |
| Once we got to the high country, we were rewarded with flowers and views |
| Sitka Valerian |
| Alpine asters |
| Views of the Goat Rocks |
| Mount Adams |
| Mt. Rainier in all her glory |
| Happy hiker |
