In spite of the very high heat and smoke in the air, we headed to Sunrise for a special hike with Quinn and Isabel.
| Here we are, ready to start our hike |
| Quinn looking at the trail and mountain ahead |
| A thumb's up from Isabel |
| Climbing above Frozen Lake |
| Getting ready to cross the first of three snowfields |
| Way more than a little scary |
| Arriving safely on the First Burroughs Mountain |
| A brave and happy hiker |
| Walking through the tundra |
| Isabel at our lunch spot |
| Quinn at our lunch spot |
| Moving on after lunch |
| A little bliss for grandmommy |
| Pretty scary looking down |
| Maximal bliss |
| Some slightly scary scree slopes |
| So hot we just had to stop for water |
| That blue copper lake is WAY down there |
| Stopping to look at the pretty flowers |
| Trying to cool off at Shadow Lake |
| Back on the trail again |
| Fields of flowers were pretty but we were still hot and tired |
How wonderful for us to have such a splendid time with our granddaughters. Thank you, Keith, for taking and sorting all these pictures.
